Continuing in this weeks series of ‘7 Days of Simple Activities That Help You Lose Weight and Feel Great’ today we move to look at shifting your focus to someone else. Showing compassion and gratitude to others in small ways can increase our happiness.

Day 2 – today we are focusing on Doing Something Kind

Taking care of others can be just the thing we need to start taking care of ourselves more and give ourselves a little boost. Do good, feel good. It doesn’t need to be something as big as starting to volunteer (though it can be!), small things can also make a difference.

Four Activities

1. Write a Letter to Someone: an actual proper letter on real paper, an email doesn’t count! Just say hi and that you’ve been thinking about them or go a step further and tell them why you are grateful to have them in your life. The photo below is of a one of these notecards I coloured in and sent to my wonderful auntie, hopefully it’ll make her day!

2. Give a Someone a Compliment: Give someone, maybe even a stranger, a smile and give them a genuine compliment, you’ll make their day!

3. Complete a Random Act of Kindness: do something for someone they wouldn’t expect, offer to babysit a friends children, take a cake around to an elderly neighbour, buy a homeless person a sandwich, the possibilities are endless. Let me know your ideas #randomactofkindness

4. Buy Someone A Book: find a book you know they’d love, write an inscription telling them why you chose it, wrap it in pretty paper and give it to someone you care about.
