This week instead of one article we have a series of ‘7 days of Simple Activities That Help You Lose Weight and Feel Great‘. When trying to lose weight or become healthier it can be tempting to focus on nutrition and exercise. Now, I’m not saying these aren’t important and we’ve talked about both lots in previous articles, but it can become a little too regimented and not take into account the whole picture. There are simple activities we can all do to help us lose weight naturally. Some may seem a little surprising, but give them a go and see what you think.
First up, Day 1 – today we are focusing on being your best.
I know in the past when I’ve been feeling stressed or like I’ve put on a bit of weight I can find myself not taking as much care over my appearance, but whether your happy or not with how you are now, trying to look your best can give you that little confidence boost. You know the one, the one where you walk a little taller, feel a little more positive.
Taking the focus of food and exercise can sometimes be just the thing you need to instinctively eat better and look after yourself naturally.
1. Go for a blow dry: this may seem so extravagant, or just what people on television do, but for the same price as a couple of cocktails most salons will blow dry and style your hair for you. The pampering is great and they seem to have the knack of getting hair looking better than I ever could myself!
2. Treat Yourself to a Beauty Night: set aside an hour or two when you’ll have a bit of peace and quiet, put on some great music and give yourself some head to toe pampering. Paint your toenails, exfoliate your body, slather yourself in moisturiser, give yourself a mini facial, put a hair treatment on and relax…..
3. Slick on the Red Lipstick: or a bright colour you wouldn’t normally wear. It’s an instant confidence boost and honestly not as scary as it can seem. Red lips can brighten up an outfit. If you’re not sure what colour to go for ask at the beauty counter. Some of the counters offer a free makeover in return for a purchase so you could go for an entire brand new look!
4. Enlist the Experts: lots of stores have free personal shopping services (most with no obligation to buy – you can always get a list of the items and say you need to think about it) so why not book yourself an appointment and see if they have any new ideas to update your look! If this seems too daunting could you ask one of your friends to come with you and give you their honest opinion?
